08.13.2011:

Hey everyone! Production on IMPS is still moving along and we're proud to have just recently brought on board some help. We have added two modelers and two graphic designers to contribute thier talent to IMPS. We just recently had an armor fest and have added a few pictures below to show the workings. Was a lot of fun and still have some (actually a lot of) work to do. We are still unable to set a release date for chapter 3.

We know it's been a long dry spell between news items here on the site, but a quick note to let you all know that we're still working on the I.M.P.S. project. We do, however, post quick updates on our Facebook page from time to time so do check in there, or join the group if you haven't already. In the meantime, here are a few images for the upcoming chapter 3 and we have one that is from chapter 4. Of course, much more will be released as soon as we near release for chapter 3.

Hey All,
Just posted some new props for you to check out. Seven new armor images and one weapon. Here are a three in-progress images. Chapter 3 is still in the works but unfortunately we won't be able to get it out by Thanksgiving of this year. Right now it's looking like it won't be until early 2011 that we'll be closer for a release time.


 
 

09.29.2010:

During this month we had to grab some pick up shots for Chapter 3. Below is a few snapshops of the crew working the green screen. We brought in a couple new troopers to help us out and welcomed them aboard the Blacksheep Team.



We've also added some new armor props to the prop page so go check those out by following the link at the top of the page. Currently, in build is a prop for an upcoming chapter. We won't give any details about it here right now but here are a couple images to see what Eric has been working on:



As for Chapter 3 progress, we're still working tough, so hang in there!

Hello IMPS Nation,

Some interesting news we’ve discovered. Time On-Line is having a “What’s your favorite Star Wars fan film?” listing and they’re putting the judging up to you - the Star Wars loving public. We were pleased to see that clips from our project found their way into Time’s examples of popular Star Wars fan film history and we’re all pretty proud about it. However it looks like since it’s a vote of numbers, the lot of us here at Blacksheep Productions aren’t going to get many votes on our own. So if you find yourself going to TIME YouTube and viewing their expose on it, please give a shout out for IMPS, The Relentless Chapters 1 or 2 if they are your favorite. We’d appreciate it.

Post for Chapter 3 is going forward and picking up steam as Pete is delivering amazing shots. Edits are for various scenes are getting the finishing touches. We can’t wait to see it done too.

Hey All,

Marshall and myself (Eric) have completed the necessities for Chapter 3 and handed them over to Pete for rendereing. Pete has already handed over half of the shots to the editing crew and is working on rendering the new items. While they're working on that, Marshall and I have now moved on to chapters 4 and 5.

Blacksheep Productions has spent the last six months re-tooling all the post FX in chapter 3 from the ground up. Everything learned from the first two chapters is now being poured into the next chapter, this time with 2010 technology. Chapter 3 is going to have a new look from the previous. Chapter 4 and beyond, even more so.

Below are a few images of work in progress. There are no spoilers as these are just model re-works, textures, lighting and atmospherics. Enjoy, more to come!

03.26.2010:

Hey IMPS fans,

So this past week, Dave and I (Nathan) went out to visit Eric in his beautiful chateau in the forest filled mountains to work on more prop and costume parts. The crisp mountain air and higher altitude made for some excellent AB mixing of Polyurethane. While we waited for molds to kick, Eric gave us his ‘dog and pony’ show of the look of new and unexplored Relentless hanger bays for Chapter 4. All I’m going let on is that I feel bad you’re going have to wait to see them, because they are a new level of WOW! The good news is that, very soon, Pete should be handing me a lot of the final FX shots for Chapter 3 and I believe some of the afore mentioned Chapter 4 plates make an appearance at the very end of 3. That means I get to hit high gear with the editing and deliver picture lock to Andy so he can give it the sweet, sweet sounds and score that we all love to hear.

Visiting with Eric was additionally awesome as he monitors way more of the message boards and blogs than we can. He shared a lot of the positive feed back about Chapter 2, which is always inspiring. Thank you all for your patience and enjoying what we’ve striven so hard to get to you.

Hey IMPS fans, Chapter 3 editing has been under way for quite sometime now, but we hit a fixable snag. Our cutting system has been AVID DV Express on the greatest technology 2002 had to offer with a Mac 15" laptop. I’ve heard that DV Express was discontinued three years ago so you all can imagine how fun tech support would be. We are now updating all the Chapter 3 (and beyond) edits and footage to Final Cut Pro on a borrowed Mac laptop. Woo! The bad news is all the catch up, the good news is that we skip two generation losses by foregoing an on-line session. So hopefully the end result will be more technically pleasing.

As for voices, we’ve been doing a good amount of sifting as we try to bring the same level of quality performances for each character without using the same people too many times. We’re happy to find that all the major roles have been casted and dialog editing is underway.

Please enjoy a few of our photos from the pick up ‘green screen’ shoot we did in January. This was actually the 1st footage that we’ve shot in HD. We’ve come a long ways since the Hi-8 cam days!

Thanks for the continued support and interest. We’ll have this to you as soon as technology and life lets us.
