Hello everyone. Yes, it’s been forever since we’ve posted any news here but I’ll try to give a heads up on the IMPS project status. We have received a number of emails and most of them are asking similar questions, so here’s the list that I’ll try to answer:

By the way, there’s an IMPS group on Facebook you can join. I just found out about it today!

Now for the question/answers:

1. Has the Project been cancelled?! Have you guys died?

No and not yet. Since most of this year has been tough on the majority of us because of the ecomony and so forth, a lot of our time is spent trying to work and pay the bills, or we’re trying to find jobs and that in itself is a fulltime process. In-between moments we’re trying our best to work on the project. Also, we are partially on hold because we were/are in need of animators and modelers. One guy can’t do it alone. Well, he can, but it takes a long time! ;)

2. Is IMPS chapter 2 still being worked on?

Yes it is. Status of the Chapter is that it is picture locked and sound, foley and music are being added.

3. Do you have subtitles available in (your language here.)

Unfortunately, no. We do have the script available, so if you can take it from there, you’re free to do so. We just do not have the time to implement subtitles at this time. If any of you have translations available (of the script) let me know and perhaps we can post it on the site for download.

4. When will Chapter 2 be released?

Honestly, I couldn’t tell you right now. I will immediately let you all know when I know.

Thanks everyone for still hoping for this project and chapters to be completed. We wish we could get them out to you sooner!

Cheers and enjoy the upcoming holidays. :)

IMPS Enlistment: A “thank-you” to those who have contacted us regarding the IMPS enlistment.

This is a follow up request to let you all know we are still in need for some help on CG modeling for future chapters of IMPS – The Relentless. We have concept drawings, other artwork and some rough models built in Lightwave as guidelines for models we need in upcoming chapters. We do prefer that the models be built in Lightwave for the ease of translating the data into animations.

Due to the nature of this project (and the size of our wallets) we are unable to compensate you for your efforts other than credits on the web page and screen credits in the final credits reel at the end of the film – which will be at the end of the last Chapter. Of course you are able to use any work you do for us as personal resume pieces on your own site and/or portfolio.

Again, please let us know if you (or anyone you know) would be interested. We can really use your help. So drop us a line on our contact page. (Be sure to put in the subject line: IMPS Enlistment)

Thanks for your time.

We hope everyone had a good holiday season and a happy new year. Now that the festivities have slowed down a bit we are back on board for continuing production of the next Chapters.

As we stated a while back, Chapter 2 has been picture locked and is awaiting sound / music. We had to arrange a deal to get Chapter 2 and 3 sound worked on at the same time so we are in the stages of adding finalized FX shots to fill in the blanks of Chapter 3 at this time.

In the past, many of you have asked if there are ways to help out with the project. Well, here’s your chance:

I.M.P.S. is enlisting now for a CG post on planet Earth.
(The little blue rock on the ass end of the galaxy)

If you, or anyone you know, is skilled in the following: Combustion, Shake, After Effects, Digital Fusion, and/or Lightwave and Lightwaves IK Booster, this may be just for you.
We need high-end compositors, animators, character animators, modelers and/or texture artists who would like to volunteer time to I.M.P.S.

It will be necessary for you to have high-speed Internet access.

If you’re interested, please send us an email. Place “IMPS Enlistment” in the subject line.
Please do not attach files to the email, instead, send us a link to any work, and/or demos you have. Still compositions, short animations, etc., would be great – anything that represents your work and current skill level. You can attach a CVS to the email – preferably a pdf. (A CVS is not required, however, as we are more interested in seeing your work.)

To anyone else that would like to help, we are in need of multiple hosting/streaming locations for people to watch or download the I.M.P.S. chapters. Any recommendations you have, please let us know. We are looking into Stage6, Vuze, Bit torrent, and other media hosting servers. We would prefer not to split a chapter into segments, find locations that have little to no cost and is easily accessible to the world! Send us some links and we’ll check them out to see if they’ll work for us.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,
Blacksheep Productions
